The Friends of the Glen Ridge Library is a registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization. It was founded in 1979 by a group of devoted library supporters in order to enhance the services and programs at the Glen Ridge Public Library. Throughout the years, the Friends of the Library has provided support to the library and community in various ways through fundraising, volunteerism, advocacy and outreach. In short, the Friends are a vital part of what makes the Glen Ridge Public Library shine.
Money raised by the Friends of the Library through memberships, donations, fundraising events, and online sales provides $20,000 yearly. These funds support many library services and programs, including:

The Friends of the Glen Ridge Library's primary goals are to stimulate community awareness and use of the Glen Ridge Public Library and to support the library in developing its services and facilities. To this end, the Friends work to obtain public support for the Library budget; and to encourage gifts, endowments and memorials that provide financial support to the Library.
