Ways to Commemorate Memorial Day
Local War Memorials
The Library's staff has created a map with war memorials in Glen Ridge, Bloomfield, Montclair, and Newark. When you click on a star, you'll get a bit of history and information about each memorial.
May is Mental Health Awareness Month - a good time to think about what you do to take care of yourself. These days we are hearing a lot about the benefits of having a good "self care" routine, one which nourishes the mind, body and soul. According to Mental Health America, it is important to "make time for things you enjoy. Even if it’s just 15 minutes a day, set aside time to do something you find fun or relaxing—it will release chemical messengers in your body that are good for your physical and mental health." This week we have pulled together some virtual resources and activities to help you explore different ways to improve your wellness. Enjoy and "take care".

This Week's Storytimes!
Quarantine baking is a thing. Whether it's a new hobby, a form of self-care or just #procrastibaking, many of us seem to be baking more these days. Dive into a new cookbook from Overdrive - see our staff picks! Brush up on your skills with one of the many baking tutorials available on Kanopy. And for some family time, find fun, easy recipes on America's Test Kitchen for Kids.
We have been baking too! Marisela has been experimenting with bread baking and watch Ana's video (below) on how to make chocolate cake in a mug.
We would love to hear what you have been baking or what cookbooks you are loving right now. Send us an email or tag us #glenridgebaking on social media.
