The American Library Association recognizes June as Rainbow Book Month - a nationwide celebration of the authors and books that reflect the lives and experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Nina Maness, a NYPL librarian, reflected that books "can act as affirmation of feelings that are difficult to name, and can spark new ways of understanding yourself and the world around you." With this in mind, we have compiled reading lists for adults and young adults that you may want to explore. Also take a look at related selections on Kanopy and our own specially curated Pride Playlist. And for a real treat - try this recipe we found for Rainbow Fudge!
