The Talking Book & Braille Center of the NJ State Library provides no-cost, long-term loans of Digital Talking Book Players allowing for the free download of digital books and magazines!
The Glen Ridge Public Library is proud to be a partner in the BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download) Library Pilot Project of the New Jersey State Library Talking Book and Braille Center (TBBC). The purpose of the BARD Library Pilot Project is to offer community-based assistance to TBBC qualifying individuals at local public libraries. Audiobooks and audio magazines are downloaded at no-cost from the BARD site. BARD is a service of the National Library Service for the Blind and Print Disabled at the U.S. Library of Congress.
The Glen Ridge Public Library offers this assistance to any qualified person with either temporary or permanent physical impairments, reading disabilities or vision challenges which prevent them from reading or holding a regular print book.
You must complete an application to qualify for TBBC services and to get a free digital player. Once you have your player, we can download digital books and magazines of your choice for you to enjoy.
