Welcome to the 2025 Summer Reading Challenge – Color Our World at Glen Ridge Public Library

There’s a challenge for every age. First day to track your reading: June 10, 2025.  Last day to track your reading: August 8, 2025.
Sign up at the library or at 
glenridgelibrary.beanstack.org. 
Open to all Glen Ridge residents.
​
Ages 2-4: Record your reading with stickers on a paper log (pickup at GRPL or download here) and earn a prize.
Grades K-12*: Record your reading on Beanstack and earn a prize and enter raffle drawings.

*Grades K-3 may opt for a paper reading log (download here or pick up at GRPL) in addition to Beanstack. 
Write reviews in Beanstack of your favorite reads (optional).

How to Get Started for NEW Beanstack users
  • Click on "Register an Individual or Family" under "Create an account"
  • Use your full name. (Made up names or nicknames will be deleted.)
  • ​An email address is required.  Do NOT use your GR school email address as the schools have filters which block Beanstack emails.
  • Create a password.
  • Click on the challenge that represents the grade you will be entering in September, not your reading level.
  • Once registered, you will receive your first badge.
Now, begin logging your reading by clicking on the Log Reading button in the top left corner of the screen.  Remember, the first day to track your reading so that it counts toward this challenge, is June 10, 2025.

How to Get Started for RETURNING Beanstack users:
  • Click on the Green button at the top right of the screen to sign in.
  • ​Update your account, entering your new grade level. (If you have done past Summer Reading Challenges, please DO NOT make a new account.)
    • Forgot your password? Click on that text to reset it.
    • Still having problems? Email [email protected].
  • Click on the challenge that represents the grade you will be entering in September, not your reading level.
Once you are registered for this year’s challenge, you will receive your first badge. Now you may begin logging your reading by clicking on the Log Reading ​button in the top left corner of the screen.  Remember, the first day to track your reading so that it counts toward this challenge, is June 10, 2025.

Challenge for Ages 2-4​

Pick up a reading log at the library or download/print one here.

​For every book read, place an “X” or attach a sticker in the circles on the reading log. Finished the challenge? You have earned a prize! Visit the library to pick up your prize.

Challenge for Grades K-3 ​

We suggest reading 5 picture books (= 150 pages) per week. Important: 1 picture book = 30 pages, so no need to count pages.

Log your book titles and the number of pages read in Beanstack (and optionally on a paper reading log). 

​Each 150 pages earns a new badge until you read the total number of pages in the challenge, 750.

Have you set a goal to read more than 750 pages? You may still log additional books. 
Read and log pages weekly in Beanstack to be entered in weekly drawings.

Finished the challenge? You have earned a prize! And, your name will be entered for a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card!

Visit the library to pick up your prize.


Write 5 reviews in Beanstack of your favorite reads to be entered in a bonus raffle.


Challenge for Grades 4-5 ​

We suggest reading 150 pages per week. Log your book titles and the number of pages read in Beanstack.
Each 150 pages earns a new badge and virtual raffle tickets until you read the total number of pages in the challenge, 750.

​Have you set a goal to read more than 750 pages? You may still log additional books. 


As you log your reading, earn virtual tickets! 
  • 150 pages = 1 ticket
  • 300 pages = 3 more tickets
  • 450 pages = 4 more tickets
  • 600 pages = 6 more tickets
  • 750 pages = 7 more tickets
As you earn virtual tickets, assign them to the gift cards you would like to have a chance to win in Beanstack. You have until midnight August 8, 2025 to assign your tickets.

Finished the challenge? You have earned a prize! And, your name will be entered for a chance to win a $50 Amazon gift card!

Challenge for Grades 6-12 (Teen) ​

We suggest reading 250 pages per week. Log your book titles and the number of pages read in Beanstack.

Each 250 pages earns a new badge and virtual raffle tickets until you read the total number of pages in the challenge, 1250.

​You may still log additional books after you have completed the challenge. 


As you log your reading, earn virtual tickets! 
  • 250 pages = 2 tickets
  • 500 pages = 5 more tickets
  • 750 pages = 7 more tickets
  • 1000 pages = 10 more tickets
  • 1250 pages = 12 more tickets
​
As you earn virtual tickets, assign them to the gift cards you would like to have a chance to win in Beanstack. You have until midnight August 8, 2025 to assign your tickets.

Finished the challenge? You have earned a prize! And, your name will be entered for a chance to win a  $75 Amazon gift card!  Visit the library to pick up your prize.

Challenge for Adults

Adults can participate in the Summer Reading Challenge, too!

  • Sign up with your name and email to participate at the adult circulation desk. With every check-out, receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a gift basket.
  • A gift basket will be raffled off at the end of each month in June, July and August!
